Question about being LATE

a close friend of mine is seeing someone, and he told me she's late for her period, i think tomorrow will be 9 days. he told me she took a home test, and it came out negative. should this couple be worried? any body on here been in this sisuation or missed their period for other reasons...

also he tells me that she changed jobs so she works weird hours and shes very stressed because of a deadline shes on.

feedback would be great so i can fill him in on what to do. he's kinda frozen about it.

some people are late due to other reasons like stress. once my gf was about 2 weeks late. it doesn't happen often, but it does happen. however, i would tell your friends to retake the pregnancy test just to be sure.

Actually there is a long list of reasons for such a delay... Although stress and true pregnancy are the most frequent, it might range between endometriosis to cancer...

If it goes on, ask her to go to her doctor.

I wouldn't worry about that, as long as she took the test recently, not like the first day she was late.

They might want to get a reliable method of birth control, though. A pregnancy scare should be a warning sign that they're not being careful enough.

Being late is not uncommon for a lot of people. Things that can change a cycle are stress, an increase in physical activity, hormones, diet, even illness.

I'd be more concerned once it gets past the two week mark.

No... my cycles are just irregular and I was just more stressed than usual that month.

Stress is a reason for late periods. I was late/missed a period due to stress and being upset, and I was never pregnant.
