Hi,

I've already posted for some advice on the Love advice forums but things have moved on a bit since then and now im just totally confused by her behaviour and want some female advice.



Some history, i was dating a girl and we got on great, i went away for a week and then she went total cold on me, she is from a foreign country living here for 1.5 years now. She had some friends visit and said this was the reasons why she couldnt see me/commit to a date. We work in the same building so potentially i can see her every day.

Anyway, we spoke last friday, i had a gift for her from when i was away. she totally loved it. I could tell, it wasnt the normal thing. She hugged and kissed me (on the cheek, we are at work, in the lobby but alone) but the way she hugged me was like a real over the top hug. We talked about meeting up this weekend but didnt confirm any thing solid. She said she would text me, said she would do it on the friday eve. But hasnt.
I kinda thought things were over etc and was preparing myself to step back and just see what happends. But she was insistant she would text me over the weekend.
Like a fool i text her today, asking how her weekend was and if she fancied seeing the movie still this week. This was at lunch time. She hasnt replied.

What i dont understand is this. Why say you will do something and dont? What is the point. If she didnt want to see the movie etc i wouldnt mind. But why suggest this?
I know she is busy or thinks she is. But every time i am thinking, its time to back off, its like she is throwing me a carrot.
We are not young people. 35 and 30 etc so its not kids games.

She did say to me she is tired and these "friends" are getting on her nerves now and when she is tired she goes into her self. But surely going out with a decent guy is a good thing right?
I know from previous conversations from our good times, she does like her space. She does like to do her own thing and is independant. I also know she is very cautious.
But on our first date she had travelled 16 hours on a coach and still made that date and was happy and keen so even if you are tired if you want to do something you can?

Im just trying to understand the behaviour.
