Should i continue it?

[BACKGROUND]
4 years ago,
This guy added my FB through mutual friend.

I saw him several times at uni.
but we never talked.

(No one knew I thought he's attractive or even know him lol)

1 year later,
He texted me out of no where.
We started talking in platonic way since then.

[ADDITIONAL INFO]

1. We've been talking for 3 years,
Only in around March(1 time in Nov).

2. The talk was discontinuous; never got longer than 3 weeks.

3. Each time we would talked 2-8 hours.
~2-3 days a week.

4. We always talked about random stuffs and discussed some science.

5. after the weeks, I usually forgot about him
and went to the same cycle in the next March.

6. We had never go out in real life.

[ CURRENT ]

This year,
He began with random stuffs as usual.
(He's single now)

Then he told me
"You are one of girls I interested."

I must admit I was happy and flustered.
but what's with that
"one of the GIRLS"!!!

He said because I can hold conversation with him very long. Only few ppl can do that.

He said there were other 2 girls he's talking with.
1. He showed me their FB.

2. He said he has ended talking with one of them because she didn't talk to him.

3. He brought up about his ex,
and told me about bad parts in the relationship that keeps haunting him.

4. I gave him advise,
and he said he felt a lot better.
He said I was so supportive, he liked that.

[ CONCLUSION ]
1. Although I like him,
I felt like he's shopping on girls.

2. This is my second time talking with a guy though.

3. I hasn't reached crazy level yet.

4. It's just started so I need to be careful.
I want a healthy relationship.

[ QUESTION]

1. Should I stop my feeling for him now?
Is this considered as a bad sign ?
- He's now doing master degree in other country.
- And I would study in other country in the next few months.
- The time zone would be 8 hrs different.
- It takes 4 years to complete our study.
- The chance we would meet is REAL thin.

2. Is he a silent player?

3. Or Do I just only overthinking?

4. I don't think he's investing in real way.
But I like him. Hahaha

From your experience if this guy isn't a boyfriend material,
Please help me emphasize that I shouldn't continue the feeling to him further more.

I want someone to help me out of this love trap. I'm afraid of being crazy.

I hope I would survive until April come.
