I'll have more eye-contact with him. Chat more. Tease him, and yet engage him in a serious conversation in appropriate times. Listen to him and let him open up his mind.

Compliments are much easier than knitting, which is why I employ them regularly. You drop the right string of words into a guy's head, he will remember them ten years later.
