    Who loves paintballing?

Ok, so I love paintballing, but I try not to do it all of the time because it takes up time on the weekends (ie time away from the family). Anyway I did go this past weekend. Awesome! I surrendered two guys and shot two others. The other one I shot, but the ball didn't break because he was a skinny kid wearing baggy pants. My goggles kept fogging up the first three games to the point that I could only lay down suppressing fire instead of actually outing people. I broke down and bought some anti fog spray, but it only worked for one match before I had to reapply. I've got a Tippmann 98 custom with an 18" barrel, 6" silencer, bi pod, 9x40 scope, and RIS hand guards.

What do you have? When was the last time you really GOT someone on the field? (please elaborate )

I like to paintball, but I never got into it as a regular hobby.

I should get my own gun though.

I've only ever played in the winter.

Oooo. I've never played in the winter. I'd imagine that getting hit would hurt twice as much when it is cold outside. Now is a good time to get a gun or gun package from rap4.com Their prices have dropped in recent weeks because of promotions and the release of new models. If you check out the 'Frostbite Sniper Kit' for the Tippmann 98 Custom you will be looking at the gun that I have. If I was able to do it again I'd have went with the Tippmann A5, but I am happy with my 98 Custom.

I played paintball once, about 6 years ago. I didn't find it very thrilling because it was a really small 'arena', maybe 20x20 feet. I got a paintball in my mouth lol.

I like hunting, though. I've gone hunting quite a lot and I like to shoot things. It's fun.

20x20? That sounds like a speed ball field. If it had blow up bunkers and obstacles it was probably speed ball. I prefer woods ball. The smallest woods ball field at the place I go to is approximately 400x200. The largest is freaking huge, probably 3 or 4 times the size of the smallest. That is where the real fun is. 20 people (or more) on each team. We played 'Protect The President' this past Saturday in addition to the normal 'Elimination' matches.

Up here in Scotland it's incredibly popular, out in the woods. It's very expensive though but I wish I could go more. I'm not amazingly good with the technical side of the guns (eg. names of brands).

Is it a bigger sport in the USA? Over here it's more of just a casual game, at least where I have played. No real tactical games as such just 10v10/20v20 matches.

I used to. But then I started playing Airsoft. I like the realistic looking guns, the fully-automatic fire and a crowd that's as interested in authenticity as they are the actual game.

I want to feel like I'm actually creeping through the woods blasting insurgents away with my G36C rather than playing a sport.

I use to paintball casually. My friends and I decided one day to do it without shirts on, just the masks and pants.

I haven't gone since. I traded it in for a safer alternative, motorcycles.

I don't know if it is more popular here because I don't know exactly how popular it is there. Depending on the area here people are more serious about it too. In some states there are many local teams who only play together and enter tournaments and such. I know that there are national speedball tournaments, but I'm unsure about national woodsball tournaments. I do know that there are massive military simulations for mil-sim/woodsball enthusiasts. This year there is one in Hollister, California called 'Operation: End War' that will involve 400 players who will take various roles military style (commander using troops to execute various battle tactics) to reach certain goals. If it were closer, I'd go.

Ha, so you traded in a few possible bruises from paintballs for possible broken bones and death?

I've never played airsoft, but it looks like it hurts a whole lot more than paintballing.

Alright now. I got my Digital Woodland Camo BDU today, along with my Digital Woodland Camo knee pads and vest. It is SOO on next time I go paintballing!

Yeah. Individually the bullets hurt about the same. Close up they can break exposed skin.

The killer is that you don't typically get hit once. You get hit about half a dozen times with each tap of the trigger.

Hahaha, yeah. I have tested it, both hurt and neither my mother/all females in my family or the forum mothers here approve of it.
