Help with a situation with a girl

Hope I can get some help here with this situation. I went out with this girl, it was a meeting as we had met on a dating site. We went out for some coffee and a walk through a park and had a nice time. At the end of the day I asked if she would like to go on a date and she accepted.

About a week later she left me a message saying that, though I wanted to go on a date with her, she met someone and that she would still like to get to know me.

I figure all right, I'll still get to know her. Her and the guy weren't official and I figured might as well see what happens.

Now in this time, she had changed her dating profile form single to seeing someone.

A week later it's back to single.

So now I'm curious as to if her and the guy didn't work out

I have interest in teh girl and I'm not the type of guy that just likes to sit back. I don't wanna play around with her and all that. Her saying she met another guy makes me feel maybe she didn't see a connection bewteen us, but she did agree to a date with me.

So I have been thinking about saying to her how I feel and get a true answer from her n how she feels about me

"I know you said you met a guy, are you guys still talking? I enjoyed getting to know you and enjoy chatting with you and had a real nice time when we met. I would like to take you on a date and get to know you some more"

Do you think that sounds alright to say?
